Always amazes me the complete lack of joined up thinking in the US. That looks like a pretty standard setup for the lorry not particularly oversized or anything.
And the crossing doesn't look to be out of the ordinary. Yet noone at any point seems to have thought what if. It seems that American health and safety is closer to Africa's than European

a hell of a lot of their crossings are crowned at the tracks and see a lot of 'lowboys' getting hung up .... crossings over here tend more to be hollow, than crowned

We also have proper lorries. That same load over here would be sat on top of the wheels not between them. Coupled with air suspension on both the unit and trailer to lift it right up.

it's not that long ago that 95% of low loaders were 'bridge' type though Smiffy ... we've just 'moved on' faster than they have

Their axle loading laws are awful. The semi' as they call them only run at 36t.
yeh, generally 6t / axle ... some states're 5t / axle and less ... hence their " love of axles "

I was sitting shotgun in a Scania with a Crane low loader coming out of Elland power station with a 38 RB on board and site manager said don't turn left go right and go a long way round as there is a bit of hump in road, driver looked as we went out thought that's alright we got stuck hell of a job to get off hump scraped forward a few inches every time unit reared up. On the way down the M62 down a long hill towards Leeds driver was pushing it a bit and heated the brakes up and got them a bit glazed so they didn't work well and we went down with exhaust brake screaming and praying the traffic didn't stop.
