My Terex 860 has the opposite problem at the moment, when turn the key off the machine still runs! I just stall it via the hydraulics, I have just got a new stop solenoid to fit as i suspect that is the problem. I will report back once i have changed it hopefully tomorrow.

Nothing to do with diggers. Just your comment saying you had the opposite problem.
Clay pigeon shooting with a mate the other day (been 3 times) my mate's gun fire's when you take your finger off the trigger 😲

If it's a delphi pump it'll be the latch valve on the side, looks like a 17mm bolt head IIRC. See link: https://www.ribblevalleydiesels.co.uk/product/brand-new-delphi-latch-valve-dp210dp310/

Many thanks, just for my interest really but that is where I was heading, in this set up the small solenoid covers a hole in the pump with a rubber seal when the power is off, the later Delphi pump was similar in operation, and that said had similar operating issues! Glad you found the issue, 👍
To tell the truth, although it appears to be fixed I'm still not sure if it was a fuse issue or the one connector on the solenoid that was playing up. Either way your help meant that I had a chance of fixing it. Thank you.

On a serious note if I may. I am a shooting man and your friends gun need looking at. I presume it is an over and under with a safety catch ?

Yeah. He's an instructor. He has a problem with prematurely pulling the trigger 😁 this cured it.👍
Don't pick the wrong gun up 🤣🤣

Latching valves give a similar issue,(won’t turn off, but open circuits the leak off and supply fuel) so when the stop solenoid turned off, latching valve allows enough fuel for the engine to tick over continuously.
Spot on Mick, I have another Terex 860 here so i swapped the latching valve over and it cured the problem on the original machine which now turns off on the key, The other machine now has the fault, I will order a new valve this week, Many thanks for your input!

Changin the subject slightly if I may, could anyone give me a link to a decent wiring diagram for my Project 8 3CX please ? I have Googled it but I found that either they are almost illegible or for the wrong machine.

Would 2003 be a project 8, I thought they ran from 1992 to 1995 with the dash by the steering wheel then is was the side dash until about 99 then it became the project 12 1999/2000 with the slew being powered by rams instead of the old rack and pinion.

Apologies, I may have made a mistake there. I looked at the V5 and just quoted the first registration date. The slew isn't powered by rams. There is a dash behind the steering wheel with lights, clock, etc. But the ignition key, heater controls, etc. are on a side dash. A photo. of the machine if it helps.

Yep thats a project 8, looks quite tidy too and a Nice turbo version sitemaster plus, They are still relatively easy to work on, Make sure you drain the slewbox and refill it regularly they get water in them and when you go to drain them you get a load of sludge running out very slowly!
Which wiring diagram are you looking for.
