No idea how it measures up cost wise to the competition but 3 years unlimited mileage warranty with breakdown and recovery must be market leading?

I don't know if they are competitive with the more famous mercedes, scania, volvo and Man, but I remember as a child that the ford continentals were used like the scania 111, 141, the volvo fh and the others that I don't remember, but basically you would buy a new generation Ford for your vehicle fleet, to enrich your fleet? will they be reliable, sturdy and durable, used in harsh conditions such as quarries, mines, construction sites for transporting logs and timber in the mountains?

remains an unsolved mystery.

The blue f-max in one of the links isn't a bad looking truck, that 8 wheeler is an abomination only a mother could love, not even sure if it would be a grower looks wise. A bit like how the Mk5 discovery looked stupid at first with an offset, full-size number plate, which now I don't think looks too bad

Is it me or do the 4x2 Artic units just look wrong!!
Why are they so popular in Europe but not in the UK?
I guess it must be to do with weights and taxation.

UK is
Upto 18t on two axles
26t on 3
32t on 4
40t on 5 but has to be articulated,Ireland can be rigid
44t on 6
Then I think 80t+ requires dual drive units

Europe stop at 5 axles. There is no benefit to an extra one.

Then America seems to have an axle loading of about 4t per axle in some states.
A 20t machine that will go on 5 axles in Europe needs about 10 over there

Mate of mine runs 4x2s swears by them...
I said they look crap ..he says I keep them a decent length of time and they save me a chunk of dough in tax as he doesn't need the weight..

I think the legendary Ford continental was built in Great Britain in England, it was a pretty good car I think daf type, I don't remember exactly, now the production of vehicles is made in the East for reasons of low costs I think I don't know if the quality is optimal. it's a pity the crisis is causing the quality of the products to drop, they are making disposable objects.
