Might be in the minority here but my whites hitch has been ok, will have a look to see if there is any play but, as far as I can remember it's pretty tight

I have one on the kub u17 and it's as sloppy as buggery and digger only has 800hrs on it ...but worse than that is the geometry is terrible - whites buckets and hitch.

I'll have to have a look at mine, next time I'm at it. Mine has 600 ish hours on it. Not sure if it's just the hitch geometry that's a bit crap or whether it's the buckets, they generally seem to be a one size/shape/design fits all machines in that weight class. Suppose it's cheaper than making buckets fir each individual machine but, on my dx10 it's very hard to dig a straight back edge of a trench

To be fair I think the geometry is usually pretty good atleast it's definitely not the worst. It's just how quickly they wear. I put a video up of one that was brand new and noticably loose fit.
Driving a 6t machine with one and at 4000 hrs you can't dig in a straight or grade inconsistent ground with it.
They also have pins that stick miles out the side of the bosses meaning your narrowest bucket on some machines is 75mm wider than need be. Although I don't know if this is dependant on the grease nipple setup of the machines. And the spring clips that secure the pins in always seem to be missing.

The email I got from Whites covered this specific issue and I agree with their points on it. Micro's suffer especially from it, the build height in relation to the radius of rotation just doesnt do them any favours, and the Bobcat/ Doosan doesn't have the greatest of bucket rotation to start with unfortunately.

You have to be at full reach to dig vertical with the u17 Kubota - useless range of motion thanks to the hitch/buckets

I bought a whites hitch to go on front of case590t to drop of 4 in 1 and pick up grain bucket.it was a very sloppy poor fit so I sent it back to get it done again.it was as bad when returned and where fittings had been cut of the sparks had damaged the paint which was rusting terribly.i sent it back and got my money back.never been impressed with their products

I’ve not updated this thread, partly because the machine hasn’t been that busy, only just past 70 hrs, and also because it’s been fairly uneventful. The only issue I’ve had is that the blade ram drops very slowly on its own, it’s nothing too serious, would probably take 40mins to drop to the floor but not acceptable on a new machine. I noticed it the first day out, phone liugong who said it’s a known thing (won’t go into the rambling explanation but it made sense to me) and there’s a batch of rams on order from china. So that’s going on soon hopefully. It’s not ideal in some respects but they’re gonna sort it, it hasn’t stopped me using the machine so I’m not gonna moan too much. That aside the machine is fantastic to use, it’s quick, powerful and well balanced, if it stays in one piece I’d say it’s at least as good as any of the others if not better than most, its really impressed me to be fair to it.

in other news I obviously don’t like keeping hold of money so this came this morning 2016 with 1800hrs. Never really had much to do with Volvos we’ll see how it goes. First impressions are it’s well finished, and very quick on the hydraulics, not sure what I think of it yet. But I’ll be on it for the next 6 weeks so hopefully I’ll have made my mind up by then.

Nothing to report on the LiuGong is the best result.
i haven’t owned a Volvo 8t, but had a 14t duck and it was a great machine. Nice place to spend the day and very productive. Good backup service as well. I had the telemetics so the one time I had an issue (water pump failed) they knew what was needed and overnighted it to their local fitter working from home, who brought the right part out with him next day and fitted it. Worth signing up for an account with the local dealer - didn’t cost anything, but always had good service.
