terex hd 1000 maybe cracked block

All, started up the dumper saturday , started fine, then was over heating , checked radiator , empty , topped it up and water went straight into sump .
Other than cracked block , anything else it can be ? also whats the chance if it is the blocck I can weld repair the kubota block ? thanks all alan c

if not the block what else can I check for , may thanks

Head or head gasket might be worth a look. Has it got a heat exchanger type oil cooler? But oil coolers usually deposit the oil in the water rather than the water in the oil.

I have one of these great little dumpers. Been very reliable over the years that I have had it

Have the daily checks revealed that it has been 'using coolant fluid'?

What is the strength anti-freeze in the cooling system?
Was it left out in sub zero temperatures?

Is your fitted with the Kubota engine?
If so further research may reveal that it has wet liners (not sure) which could be leaking.
But someone will pop up that information shortly......

I’m thinking that’s above the timing case?

I’ve got a horrible feeling though, that there’s frost plugs on top of the cylinder head, under the rocker cover? Might also be worth a look?

Yep under the rocker shaft two I think!

Good shout and I missed trying to check them before taking the engine out , low and behold when taking off the rocker cover to untorque the head , one had popped . !
