Who’d have thought it with all the proper scrapers Tony has he’s bought 2 k tech scrapers. Seen these get lots of hate on old girls on Facebook

I wonder how much they actually pay for products on a show like gold rush. Lots of product placement and blurred logos if it’s a competitor

I guess operator ability as well he’s got a lot of rock truck drivers so more familiar than a scraper, they using them to maintain bunds on settling ponds. Can run material out in layers rather than tip then have a dozer level It.
With d9 push loading they can load in 35 seconds vs 1 min 40 with 100 ton Volvo loading them. Cheaper to have an old 9 push loading then in a 3rd time vs prime excavator off production loading them.

Also parts etc tony has big grave yard for the old scrapers but they must have 30-40 Volvo ‘rock trucks’ so I bet they’ve a fair parts library and few hangar queens lying around.

I have seen them working on house building sites but a TS14 would have done as well and would not need as much area to turn around.
A better machine would be a cat 623 self elavating motor scraper but top line would be more
I can understand framers with rubber tracked tractors buying small box's to go on they tractors as they already got the tractor

One of the advantages touted for these K-Tecs is that when It’s too wet to use them or conditions change you can put the body back on the haul unit and use a loader or excavator
