Anyone use Aspen fuel?

I use it for pole saw,chain saws and strimmer.very expensive but it keeps well and never had issues up to 2 years but it should be ok for 5 years.in that respect far better than the modern petrol.had some fresh fuel in my wacker back in july.used it and put it back in shed with half a tank.6 weeks later it would not start so I drained all fuel and put fresh in and it started 2nd pull.modern fuel is s**t nowadays and has zero shelf life.I allways empty fuel out of above mentioned tools and run till they are completely empty and never have issues.

I like it but it's not cheap, just hassle free for stuff that doesn't get used much.
When milling all day with the saw an inch from your face you really can tell the difference.
Worth looking at the 25L or bigger if you plan on using a lot, not much of a saving though.

I've been using it in chainsaws a dozen years now. Certainly not cheap and I do use petrol mix if I'm using a saw for more than a day and refill with Aspen for the last tank.
I like how clean the fuel system and the engine internals keep

For me it is an easy option to try to show green credentials without going to the extent of changing larger machines onto bio oils ...... ie greenwash

It's a great pity that we have to pay road fuel duty on a fuel that is never going to see a road ☹

I would certainly use Aspen in a stone saw in a poorly ventilated area as the exhaust is so much more pleasant even if it meant having to buy a new saw or rebuild an old one (Aspen can cause problems in older petrol fueled engines)

I'm waiting until I've used stihl synthetic 2 stroke oil a bit longer but I've never had any trouble using stihl mineral and shell v power even in saws which can sit on the shelf a fair while between uses. I'm actually wondering if the oil is the problem as much as the petrol but I'm waiting to see. I know the synthetic mix doesn't stay green in colour long whereas the red mixed fuel stays red.

Yeah mine tend to be on the shelf for a while.
Been using v power and no issues yet!
Usually use stihl or husqavana oil

Keeping well and being kind to engines is a bonus, the major advantage is the absence of benzene and other nasties that can cause both short term and long term health issues

I use the premium petrol which I think is e5 or even e0 depending upon the brand.

Although our pumps have E5 labels on them, our Synergy Supreme+ 99 is actually ethanol free (except, due to technical supply reasons, in Devon, Cornwall, North Wales, North England and Scotland). Legislation requires us to place these E5 labels on pumps that dispense unleaded petrol with ‘up to 5% ethanol’, including those that contain no ethanol, which is why we display them on our Synergy Supreme+ 99 pumps.
There’s currently no requirement for renewable fuel, like ethanol, to be present in super unleaded petrol although this could change in the future, in which case we would comply with any new legislation.

I use it in chainsaws,hedge cutter and pole saw and find it great.i allways empty tools when I finished and start and run till all fuel gone so no issues with old fuel which don’t happen with aspen.just finished using a can that must be 6/7 years old and still ok.million times better than petrol aswell.only downside is £25 for 5 litres and yes you read that right.

Yeah thats what I paid. I did consider 60 ltr drum works out a lot cheaper

The school I work at have gone over to Aspen for all the small petrol kit - god knows how expensive the 200l drums are and they get them delivered pretty regular! They have had a few issues with older kit not liking the switchover but mostly its been fine. Somebody told me the machines don't like being swapped from petrol to aspen and back again but cant really see why?
A major advantage of this switchover was them giving me 5 box's of sthil 2stroke oil oneshots! So I'm sticking with fossil fuel until they are all used up (check back here in about 20 years at the rate I use them...)
I use Premium unleaded with decent oil for the 2stroke and seems to keep just fine. My genny can sit for months at a time and fire right up when needed. Its tempting to go Aspen but I've got some old petrol gear that's like a family heirloom, don't want to mess around with their drinking habits at their old age.

I pay about £18 for 5l if you buy the 25Ls which are dead handy with the tap.
So it's about 8 quid more by the time you factor the one shot in.
Add the fact of the hassle of mixing and shite pump fuel etc.
And no headaches milling

On a more random note...used to feel really shite after a long day on the saws or milling etc...mentioned it to my mum once and she said oh your allergic to petrol.. if it's legit or not I don't know she reckons she got me tested as a kid anyhow felt fine ever since using aspen

I use aspen in my genny. Often work in sheltered spaces or indoors (with ventilation) and there has been a noticable improvement in air quality. Also stuff that isn't used much used to be a pain to start and it now starts no problem. It is extremely espensive, but worth it for me.
