Its for a mate of mine. I'm doing the concrete and he wants a shiny finish. It's not something i do. We only do yards with a brush finish.

Never just have one power float. Always hire them in pairs.

Good advice unless it is for a house slab. I have a smaller 600mm diameter edging trowel which I can handle quite happily. But in fairness the big easy float is pretty dam good for a house slab.
When I was doing industrial units we would have 3 ride on floats. One with pans, one with finishing blades and the back up with combination blades. 1000m2 of flooring doesn’t wait if the floats don’t work!!

I mean more that when one breaks down you are absolutely screwed. We always have 2 on site even if we only use 1. Had a few break downs with them and ended up finishing the job with 1.

This is only about 400m2 in total, split into 3. I'm just laying and floating it. It's over to my mate to polish it

I’ve been there at 2am trying to fashion a drive belt out of blue rope when my 3’ whitman spat its dummy out. I’ve a 400 edger as well we use on small slabs but no fun on the big slabs.

Now I think….my edger might be 400mm. Nice little machine for small house slab!!
