and on the subject of trees and planting 'em ........
Welsh Gov. currently has a program going, giving away 1,000,000 saplings for people to plant ...
if I were a betting man I'd take a wager, that once distributed, they'll be punting 1M tree's-worth of carbon credits about, to all and sundry growing anywhere but on their own property .... if the survival rate were estimated at 25% it'd be generous - they're 6-8" saplings ATM and'll be 30 odd years before they're doing much in the way of C2 regeneration.
I've quite a few here, many of which we've either planted or allowed to grow naturally .. wonder what they'll be worth, aside from our many mature ones

I think they are trying to CPO those farms. That's what Dutch farmers were protesting about. I read somewhere that the plan is to build a mega city, mainly for refugees. The wealthiest 10% will be fed on prime beef and the rest of us will be fed on dry, ground up insect larvae. Hunger games is right.

they will be offered 120% of market value
(quite how they will determine that will be interesting)
and anyone refusing will have their properties CPO-ed ....
UK rules on CPO only allow it for / in the interests of, major infrastructure projects and now't else .....
bet that gets changed quietly under the table -- and likely soon, for the tree growing program or insect farming

I haven't read the book. Although as said I have it and will look later. But I think it's highly unlikely he would have written that- even if he's thinking it. The bloke is not stupid. Talk like that would turn the tide against him in a matter of minutes.

What's scary to me is we're too fcukin late. This started in 2008.
