Evening all

What does everybody do for fuel ? Just missed out on a 100 litre bunded tank and pump so I’m stuck with my 3 cherished Jerry cans! Just looking at getting some more ex army ones but have been told if there painted inside to steer clear 🤔

You wouldn't regret getting a 12v one. They don't draw much current so I keep an older battery nearby unless the machines own battery is convenient for access.
Only thing I didn't really like about my western one says in the user's instructions under the lid "not for mobile use"
Which I didn't spot till it was too late.
Fits perfectly in the back of the pickup of course :unsure:
Would like to know if Cullions one has the same in its guidelines for use?

half or two thirds of a tank, sloshing about in a small van could be exciting I'd imagine :oops::giggle:

I only run the micro and tracked dumper so just use 3 or 4, 5 litre Jerry cans and also run on white due to ease. No idea where my nearest red supplier is and to be fair for the amount I use -the dx10z is fair bit thirstier than the tb108 it replaced but between that and dumper barely use 10 litres, so isn't worth the hassle of driving miles out of my way to get red then having to store it at my house, then all the decanting to Jerry cans etc

5L jerry can? You mean the little plastic cans? The metal ex-army ones are the proper "Jerry" can's (as they came with the Yanks in WW2) and hold 20L. I try and keep one in the garage full of Derv ;)

5l oil cans area easier to pour from than a petrol type can, and free once you've used the oil.

Thay may be free but I doubt they comply with the relevant United Nations Economic Commission for Europe UNECE specifications and are marked with the UN number for diesel (UN1202)?

I'm really impressed with my E10's fuel economy. Seems to burn around 5-10 litres on a normal day.

'Drema burns five, or there abouts, an hour ..... which I call a result :) .... but doesn't get run that hard ... probably be closer to 8+ working harder :rolleyes:;)

Modern cheap jerry cans are crap. They rust out. Don't pour as well as the old ones and the rubber seals perish. If you can get yr hands on the propper old ex military ones (date stamped ) they're worth hanging on to.

got four of 'em and one 'new one' .... the older ones are 50% heavier and still have their UN tags fixed to 'em ... great cans.

Haha a bic's biro gets you about 5 miles if you're ever unfortunate enough to have to use one to join two petrol pipes :ROFLMAO:
