Ifor tipper gone very slow

Tipped my ifor up today first time in few months and it took ages to come down on electrics and on release valve. Tried the double press of the button.

Seen some arb talk posts about stuck air release valves or rust in the ram swelling seals.

Anyone know anything? Only 16 months old

crap blocking a port somewhere?
hose inner breaking down, forming a blocking pocket in one direction?

Is it just a case of lack of use. Slight rust on ram. Drove tippers years ago where the body would take ages coming down, even bouncing across the tip

it's also gone several degrees colder Giles - oil will be thicker now and it's only gravity down

Try about 2 ton less on it, anything over 4 ton and there slow going up

Oil cold around the spool for down motion the solenoid can’t push through it.

Goes up fine which makes me think lines are fine it’s only on way down it’s gone slow, a quick google shows a lot of arb lads having slow ifors returning to earth

My three-year old ifor tipper has got really slow coming down too since the temperature dropped as well , I'm thinking cold oil. I'm guessing I only really noticed this year as the change was so abrupt .

Actually quite enjoying watching other people's goings on while it creeps down

Whilst were on the topic ...has anyone else left tailboard on to tip and discovered just a bit to late the the top pins were knackered .

My Ifor tt2515 is slow to drop compared to my tt85 anyway,cold oil won't help but I think a lot of the new Ifors are the same

Not with ifor but have done with big herbst dumploader and pulled forward as well so did a proper job on it tipping big concrete, left half tail board in pile and bent other side 90 degrees

Theres a valve you can adjust on the pump to speed them up coming down though that's why I fitted a wireless remote so you can let the trailer down while driving away

Ditto my old tt126 got very slow coming down after a few years.

I had similar issues years ago with a Toyota Dyna tipper - there was a wire gauze type filter inside the valve block that seemed to fill with crap and needed clearing out once in a blue moon.
I’ve not opened up the Ifor pump mechanism so don’t know if anything similar is inside but the 12v hydraulic tipper units are all much of a muchness.
(Just make sure you prop the body before undoing anything!….)

My dump trailer was terribly slow yesterday too, nothing got to temperature as wasn’t doing any distance so I assume it’s just cold oil..

Theres a valve you can adjust on the pump to speed them up coming down though that's why I fitted a wireless remote so you can let the trailer down while driving away

Yes there is a valve but be careful on the adjustment as too much speed down, and then eat leaks past when lifting!
