Pics from my good mate Darren , his old man Roger Champion [ Green overalls] working in wales. Roger worked for several plant hire firms in his time like CA Blackwell , Dowsetts, Chivers and Porter and Dick Hamptons to name a few. Old Rog taught me a lot on a blade and for that i cant thank him enough , sadly he passed away in 2008, so here is some of his pictures .

I know Merthyr from Bike park wales, and it’s pretty steep around there!

Awesome pics again, there’s something about the colouring and definition of the old photos, reminds me of looking through my dads vintage Farmers Weekly‘s as a young lad.

I stayed in Rassu at the Swan Inn back in April could see Merthyr on the opposite side of the valley 😳🤣
would be Rhymney, New Tredegar, or Tredegar .. three valleys between Rassau and Merffa ;) .... all equally grim:rolleyes:

What is it with that area...hardly been . Just vaguely remember driving through mountain ash? Thinking name sounded nice until I went through it. Wtf . Like post nuclear attack complete with inbred zombies
sounds pretty spot on ..... should've seen it 'fore they closed the coking plant

Was staying the night there as I was at a clay pigeon shoot at Glanusk estate, didn't see anything really, as soon as I got to the Swan didn't leave their till the next morning, not the best of area's to have a nice pub in but you can't have everything 🤣🤣

The person asked Roger if they could take some photos and said that they would send him copies and that's them, obviously had good taste and agreed colour is great 👍
