TB216 starting problem

Hi

Just wondered if anyone could help please.

I have bought a TB216 (2014 2700hrs) to help with my self build I have just started in sunny North Wales. It's been running fine for about 40 hours but starting in the morning is taking longer and longer. Once warm it starts instantly.

I've found the relay feeding the glow plugs and there is 12v in but nothing coming out so I opened the relay and it's working with my multi meter. Even bypassing the relay doesn't help. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks Nick.

Have you tried changing the actual glow plugs?

If by bypassing the relay you mean applying 12v direct to the glowplug bus rail via thick wire or jumper cables, then the next logical step is to replace the glowplugs.

If you put a multimeter on the battery without the engine running, it'll read something like 12.7v. Usually drops to around 11v when you engage glowplugs.

Thanks for replying, no I have not changed the glowplugs yet, they look a nightmare to get at! and yes 12.7v without engine running and drops to 12.4 volt when engaging glowplugs so something is not right.
