better tractor with dozer blade or bulldozer for earthmoving work?

trivial question for earthmoving works (leveling leveling tracing paths roads tracks uprooting trees stumps) in the countryside better the tractor to which the dozer blade is applied or better the classic bulldozer, good defects when using one when it is convenient to use the other thanks

I’ve often thought one of these little agricultural crawlers with a proper six way blade would be a handy tool on some jobs. About half the weight of a D3.

Wouldn't it be easier to put it on a ctl??
I think those little Track tractors are very old tech still using a manual gearbox and heavy clutches. And a very uncomfortable cramped driving position

Uncomfortable driving position? There’s more space in most portaloos. A lot of the newer little crawlers have fully powered steering, the NH’s have a single joystick, and the old sliding mesh gears have long gone. CTL tracks wouldn’t last 1500 hours if they were constantly pushing, and they’re useless on any side slope more than about 20 degrees. Plus you couldn’t put a winch or rotavator on the back of a CTL.

mind you, if there was a market here they’d still be selling them. Seem to be a lot in Italy, going by YouTube.

They had a little new Holland on a farm I worked at. Not even possible for me to drive. The footwell was not designed for size 12 boots and the seat didn't move and was definitely not far enough back for me to sit in. The bloke that drove it was about 5'6.

You’d struggle in most CTL’s then. I’m 5’10” and after all day in a Cat I can hardly walk. There’s a little bit more legroom in a Wacker Neuson cab, but the seat isn’t the best.

I'm 6'5 I struggle with most things. But that little new new Holland was impossible

I would happily loose 5in (height only can't afford it anywhere else) being tall is a nuisance. The seats never go far enough back. I can't get my feet on the peddles of alot of machines. I can't buy trousers in normal shops. And work trousers I have the choice of Engelbert Strauss or Carhartt that fit me.

Haha I have to have their extra long range. it's a very expensive way of buying work wear. My boss bought a bulk load of hi vis trousers at a good rate. They barely reached my shins. Have to sort myself now
