one side works ok, the other motor is weak and jerky, i have checked the gears and cogs on the outside of the motor , everything looks good.
only turns on one motor ,and struggles to go up steep slopes.
does anyone understand the Bonfiglioli blue specification tab numbers, my blue specification plate has exactly the same numbers and details as the blue tab on the motor for sale on ebay, but mine has three pipes going into the motor and the ebay motor has only two, and theirs has a round back on it , and mine is more square where the hydraulic pipes connect.

swap the pipes, side to side on the motors, if the problem moves sides, it's not the motor ... possibly the rotary coupling, or the valve block (pressure relief valve on that circuit leaking to tank maybe?) or a.n.other issue, in the block ??

Some good points here, also check for wear in the travel pedal linkages.

tracking levers feel ok, but will be worth a check after swoping the pipes over first as that will give some positive info on the motors.
thank you.

wow pipes are not long enough to swop across, ruled out taking off both tracks and sprokets ,then swopping motors and refitting it all,
went for lengthening pipes with odd bits in shed.
Three visits to the hydraulic shop, mutipul new and old connecters, and complete confusion later, i gave up, try again tomorrow.
This is just for a motor test, its not even close to fixing it.

It’ll be a lot closer to fixing it if it rules out a motor fault though!

as you've been to the hyd.s place I'd have just had 4 extensions made up, first as last .. job done ..... case drains could stay put ... they're just a return to tank line.

new pipes would have been over £200just to do a motor test, and the fitter there got all the threads wrong, he first gave me bsp threads for a japanese machine,
had to go back and get metric, but the threads in the motor block ARE bsp, changing to metric for the pipes on the machine and back to bsp on my old extenrion pipes. Are you confused, i am.

Recently had a similar problem with a 320 bobcat found out that worn linkage was not moving the valve far enough after adjusting its now fine

My hyd 'guru' told me many moons ago that 99% of all ports in things (cylinders/motors/valves/etc.) are BSP, with adapters being used to suit the pipe's threads .... a useful piece of info. ... (y)
I'd have had the pipes made the same as the existing metric motor hoses and could have been utilised as a spare set, afterwards ... just needing 4 Metric adapters to connect/extend onto the existing lines, for test purposes ..... ;)

or if using 'gash' BSP hoses from 'stock', as extensions .. remove the adapters from the motor housing ports to get the exisitng hoses to a BSP end, fit your 'gash' BSP extensions and stick a BSP/BSP adapter in the motor's ports ... job sorted.

Try swapping the pipes at the other end where they meet in the centre swivel . They should be the same length & be able to change configuration at this point with out lengthening.

v8 Druid, your last suggestion is exactly how it was done. All connected and tested, and returned to original fixings.
YES it is the tracking motor. now all i have to do is replace or repair. thank you all for your help.

It’s what I do!
Have we tried taking both tracks off, marking the sprockets, with the machine off the ground track f

Forward and back, left and right at the same time see where the marks end up! Could be you have an idler bearing broken up and as I’ve seen before the idler is cutting through the track frame!

This is normally due to over tightening the tracks!
