We need a crane thread ....... so here it is

We used to work for McCarthy and Stone that @V8Druid knows well. I think at some point they had the largest privately owned collection of tower cranes.
I was offered the chance to go up one on a job we was doing. I politely declined as I knew how little concrete it was bolted to!!! I don’t have a fear of heights. Mine is a simple fear of wobbly structures and this things defy my safe and secure sensibility test!!!

Yes McCarthy and stone had a fleet of Potain tower cranes and Some Liebherrs too, Ironically since they now hire cranes in they have had a few mishaps! I think the latest one was in Canterbury where they had a jib drop!

if it uses a proximity sensor .... add a switch to the circuit .. and turn it off

Worked with this crane last year and it was one of the most impressive I’ve seen, fully remote controlled if needed cab lifts right up and incredibly compact for its size.
