Looking for some advice/thoughts on the following,
I have a customer that has had a starter motor which has only lasted 2 months.
It is 24v internal solenoid type and the solenoid coil has burnt out.
Should I put this down to just a poor quality part?
Or are there any other issues that could cause this?
The solenoid is triggered through a relay from the key start. Could a poor contact in the relay cause a voltage drop resulting in this failure?
Or if the batteries have been a bit flat could this have resulted in a lower voltage and more current being drawn burning it out?
Appreciate any advice on this as I want to be sure the issue is just the starter itself and not something else causing this to happen.
Thanks!!
