Bucket repair

Any recommendations on a more permanent fix for this banana bucket? I'm getting tired of strapping it to the nearest strainer post and reversing the tractor...this is it looking its "straightest" as well...usually the bend is twice as high...

Looks like it's made from chinesium alloy so should probably cut it off at the corners and weld in a thicker plate? reinforce across the inside length of it with rebar or something? I can weld but this isn't my forte so advice appreciated.

Coincidentally...can anyone identify the hitch style...euro 1,2,3,4?? I contacted the dealer I bought the tractor from to buy a standard bucket and one of their salesmen said it was proprietary attachment hitch and would need to be fabricated by them in-house, then he never phoned back with a price...business must be too good for them!

Cut it out and start again. New floor with a decent cutting edge on front and rear and you'll be sorted.

Also look for any other weak points as once you beef one thing up it'll give somewhere else especially if your giving it some abuse.

It looks like a euro 8 hitch, have you got any measurements?
Euro 8 is about 1080mm outside to outside of the hooks, and about 790mm outsides of the eyes, and about 320mm inside of the hook and pin center.

Bend it back once more, put it on eBay for £1600. Buy new Euro 4-in-1 for £2200

To be fair, it looks quite a small bucket, possibly not that easy to find new.

You might be onto something there…its usefulness is about to be short lived when Giles Bobcat arrives on the farm soon.

Looks like a baked bean tin would be stronger!!
Certainly worth a thicker plate in the bottom.

Yeah paid about 2k for my avant 1, but I went for the 1 just wider than the machine

Depends what facilities you have, but I’d cut the base out altogether and weld in a bit of something twice as thick, then get on to Digbits for an edge with matching bolt on wearing edge or teeth, whatever your choice is. Then, whatever it is you’re doing to bend it like that, don’t do it again.

Personally I would chop it out weld new floor in weld anew edge on then get another plate that sits just inside of the bucket and get someone to put a small bend in it so it's arched front to back and weld all round that would give it extra strength all over bit like if you look in any other wheel digger front bucket

I agree with doob straighten it out and get rid. You don't need to spend much more to get something a lot better albiet you might have to take a hit on this bucket but it's worth bearing in mind in the future.

Seen worse lol used to work for one of open cast welders,who went all over world,still some good guys about,Hunters,Hocks,Ambrose,depends where you are,some can collect,but letting it get like that dunno if you pay there price,worth just st checking with local non dealer agri engineers

Not a bad shout, but a lot of buckets bigger than that one have flat floors - I’ve re-edged and re-floored a lot over the years. The only reason that’s got bent that Way is because it’s been doing what a bucket ain’t supposed to be doing, like knocking in fence posts with the weakest part.

I use my forehead for that! Usually happens when trying to drag back on some hardcore, if it hits a lumpy chunk, and more recently when trying to “pinch” a big stone for the missus decorative rockery….instead of the struts just maxing out when closing, the bucket just bent…could very well be operator error!

just checked it on the callipers, 4.5 apparently....what would you recommend replacing it with, if I go down that route? 6mm?
