I’m going Aiden you will finding accommodation pricey
I’m paying £1500 for a couple of bunk beds in a youth hostel
If you do need a bed let me know as there’s two bunk beds in our room and we only need one

Cheers Paul, £1500😮 are you going for the whole week though? I had planned just the Thursday to Saturday or Sunday. I actually booked a hotel months ago on booking.com it's a fair bit out of Munich but I can cancel it right up to a week before hand... think it was about £150 for the 2 or 3 nights.

Yes going on Sunday and fly back Saturday but we’re right by Munich station so good location, I had booked a place out of town but it was an extra hour on the train just to get to Munich then 1/2 hr to the show so by the time we added up the extra train fairs for a week worked out cheaper to stop in town, plus we know where the Irish bar is (y)(y)

I stayed in Memmighan the last time I was there and we were able to get an all day rail and bus ticket for €30 and tha included the under ground from the main station to the site.............. the draw back was you couldn't travel before 0900 but it ran up to 0200..................We stayed in a hotel at €100/ for a family room breakfast included but that was booked six months in advance .......................................................

All booked, Thursday to Saturday night, gives me 3 good days there. Staying at a hotel about 45min drive away so will likely hire a car.

Well we’re back now and a great show as ever:sneaky: but didn’t see anything out of the ordinary:unsure: the ‘new’ big thing is electric power but all the manufacturers seem to do is whip the engine out and stick a electric motor in and a couple of batteries and bobs your farthers brother:cautious:
Now why don’t they have traction motors to drive the wheels or tracks and a electric slew motor then you wouldn’t make wasted heat in the form of pumped oil and surly it’s not beyond the wit of man to make a electric actuator instead of rams especially on the mini diggers, (Westinghouse was on the job years ago) that would get rid of hydraulic oil, pipes and weight(y) just a thought let’s see what the future holds

At the show there were a lot of Chinese machines that are pure copies of western equipment:rolleyes: but one did stand out:whistle:

A track powered duck
But I did like this

It had a tree shear fitted but could have forks bucket winch etc the good thing was the legs that swing out well thought out in my opinion

I was expecting there to be really interesting innovative electric excavators. It all seems a very halfhearted effort as you say. They just seem to throw one together as everyone else is doing it and it ticks the green box.

IMHO that's because there is no market for them, bar a very small one for mini excavators.

A shame Le Tourneo Is'nt still around.... he'd be Loving it and driving the world forward, sadly we only have Clowns designing things these days that are more focused on faffing round with screens in the cab than actually innovating.

Can't say too much but a few weeks ago I had a drive on a 7-tonne loading shovel that was 100% battery powered, with a very simple monitor (travel direction, battery state, handbrake warning and hydraulic temp.) Way to go? In my opinion a long way to go but we will see more of this technology in a very short few years - in the right application. The designer of this particular mount was a bit ticklish whenever anyone mentioned dodgem cars or milk floats.

I think there is a niche market for indoor work and work in areas that fumes and noise are a problem.
I have a battery leaf blower to speed up clearing up and it is great. Seems as powerful as the 2 stroke one it replaced without the 2 stroke hassle, noise or fumes.
