You joke about it but I've had it a few times where a supplier/dealer has been cheaper than the manufacturer direct... Which seems bizarre but then I guess the dealer will have buying power if ordering in bulk...

It's possibly less hassle selling in bulk to one or two dealers and letting them deal with the customers

Well, I know forums can be a bit of a minefield for manufacturers, so in the interest of transparency, I’m going to try and be forthcoming so you amateur sleuths can’t catch me out

Our CEO began exporting used machines to Norway around 2002 and would often get buckets from Brian Scott to go with the machines he sold. When he setup Hardlife/Bucket Warehouse 10 years ago, Scott were our main supplier for a little while, but as we brought more people on board we had our engineers draw up our own product range and also began relationships with several different factories in Asia who all build our attachments to our drawings.

Over the course of time we’ve had some where we’ve found the quality to be consistently excellent and some that have been less so, who we’ve either dropped or lifted to meet our quality standards, and now we have fairly rigorous tests and penalties to ensure that our quality levels don’t drop.

Currently Scott only supply us with a few bits and pieces that we either don’t manufacture ourselves, or we don’t have in stock, but like @Storrsy and @GazCro said, we get decent dealer rates on that stuff and, on the whole, offer those products at similar prices to what Scott sell direct.

Likewise, Scott are a dealer for our Hardlife Utility range of industrial storage tents and container canopies in Northern Ireland and they buy container loads off us at a time so they get decent discounts from us and sell at the same prices.
