Definitely. Machines like that don't come up often. Be mad to lose out on it for the sake of a month of so hire

It is, and I am very keen, one problem is that it’s not available until end of June/ start of July have a few projects starting soon and want something now so I don’t have to hire

if not .. Kev wants to know where it is ... he now has the capacity to collect it

Kubota kx080 I've had on hire a few times was ok. Nothing overly exciting about it. Flow sharing when grading wasn't great. But seemed strong in the lift capacity department.
Spent more time on a case cx75 recently (with fixed boom). 20 years old. But loved it. Far preferred it to the kubota and Tak 290. Smooth as you like to grade with. Could lift a planet and lovely comfy cab.

Its a tricky one 6t v 8t .....job I started today needed some pretty decent sizes trees clearing out where the drainage trenches are to go and the 8t and tree shear bossed them impressively and im not sure the 6t would of handled them .....would of found a way of course but not as quickly.

Case will be à good machine I reckon as lots have said I dont think Kub 8t is the best or even close but they are very dependable.

I agree, I think the extra power and reach of an 8 tonner will suit better. Coming from an EX60 to a modern 6 tonner would be hard to cope with

Do you move your own machines. I rarely use my 5 ton as much as id like because often I'll just make the 3 tonner do the job as easy for me to get to site on my own. Whereas the difference between 3t and 8t is substantially big enough to warrant hauling it to site for the right job.

Hitachi ZX65-5b with Rototilt R2 ICS and gripper Hurricane top hitch. 3600 some odd hours, new tracks with rubber blocks.
Also has an IDIG fitted, and fully integrated with the Rototilt.

Any genuine interest to anyone?

(Say might because Im not sure what to do as I will have work for it soon)

When you say idig fitted do you mean the plates or are you going to sell with the whole idig system ?

A 6t with tilty v 8t without suit completely different applications really don't they ? Did you plan on tilty on your potential 8t ?

Yes.... I was in a similar situation with my 3t and 8t and often used the 3t because it was a pita getting 8t moved but feck when you can job your 8t around like a mini digger you don't half save some time on those jobs that either could do.

Used to but Tractors gone so will be getting someone to haul it for me. Don’t often do day jobs with the bigger machine, usually a minimum of a week so happy enough to get it shifted about.

@Furniss a tilty isn’t a main priority, just so happened that the ET65 had it, in future I would like to put a tilty on a machine, although I think it would be more useful to me on the ez26

Went to Dublin this afternoon to see the CX80C. Very impressed. Hopefully do a deal on it. Don’t want the road liner tracks so have priced a set of new chains and 700mm pads. 2016 with 5900 hours. Has a Leica guidance system, not sure if it’s complete or not.

Looks like its got some dipper and reach on it too.
Is it nice and tight at those hours ? My kub is at 5926 hours (noticed today) and I guess you are similar to me as in my 8t and 3t do about 500hrs each every year so 5900h not too much of a problem ?
And whats up with the pads ? My mate swears by them on his 8t hitachi ?

Don’t forget to put a new pair of sprockets on it if you change the chains, no matter how good they might look, you run the risk of accelerating the wear on your new chains otherwise.
Take a good look at the rollers too at those hours, if they are original.
Tidy thing though, by the look of it, good luck with it.

Was actually surprised at how little wear was in it. Wasn’t too sure about buying a king post model due too issues with wear, but definitely not a concern here.
Double that actually, the 60-5 done 5000 hours in 5 years with us, likewise the ex30 done 12k hours in 12 years. Not too worried about hours tbh, condition is king.

Don’t forget to put a new pair of sprockets on it if you change the chains, no matter how good they might look, you run the risk of accelerating the wear on your new chains otherwise.
Take a good look at the rollers too at those hours, if they are original.

Yea, priced up new sprockets aswell. Rollers look fresh enough, they’ve maybe been changed.

Re pads, had them on a few hired in machines, too narrow for wet ground and not enough grip on steep ground. Other than that they are fine, better option than rubber tracks
