Wanted: 6-8 ton digger

Anyone on here selling something in the 6-8 ton range? Max budget is £35k, would push to £40k for the right machine. I know there’s a difference between a 6 and 8 ton but I’m quite flexible in what I need it for. Again, not too caring on make, condition is more important. Preferably steel tracks but again, not important.
Have been offered an ET65 and rototilt with 2800 hours for £37k, sounds a fair deal but wanting to see what else is out there. Anyone any experience with these?

Really considering it, it’s maybe not but it looks very low to the ground?

Also it is a direct mount tilty, working off the prop controls, is that a good or bad set up? Think it could be annoying without a top hitch

The ET65 doesn’t look to have much track clearance but not many do these days!
A direct mount tilty wouldn’t bother me unless your working around concrete a lot and use a breaker - that’s the only reason I ever take mine off.

Is it a 57c you run?

How is a tilty for draining and narrow trenches? Like if you are digging for services with a foot bucket is it doable?

Edit: just to be clear, I’ve never used a tilty and only ever seen one in person, so have no experience or idea whatsoever

If you need to go deeper than the bucket and the tilty is wider you can't. I can't see why you couldn't add a top hitch

This, but unless your digging for water you generally don’t need to dig deeper than the tilty, or if you do dig the top half with the 2ft(can go as deep as you like at 2ft wide on the Engcon) and dig to depth with a narrow bucket.

Is it an S type hitch or pin grabber hitch on standard pins? If it’s standard pins and the buckets are loose pins then you can always drop the tilty off and direct mount a bucket or even direct mount a breaker?

I have yet to hear of anyone who has bought a tilty and complained they have wasted their money. It will make you a lot more productive once you get the hang of it. Unless you use a breaker I can't see you would bother dropping it off. Digging deep trenches narrower than a tilty I would have throught would be rare and as was said above you could dig the upper bit slightly wider which will help with cave ins.
I don't know what age it is, but that looks a lot of machine for the money.

If I wasn't still wounded from the truck that would be worth a look has to be rubbers for me though and they yes do look short of track clearance as discussed.

No nothing to do with me this time but I did leave him without a machine a few months back
I think price wise it's alot of machine for the money

It is, and I am very keen, one problem is that it’s not available until end of June/ start of July have a few projects starting soon and want something now so I don’t have to hire

seems like a lot of machine for the money and probably worth the wait/interim hire ??
