" for sale i have my Iron fairy can lift at a distance of 12.8 meters and will lift 7ton (not at 12.8 meters in close) yes I do have the hook for it. no offers had this crane for almost 5 years we used it to lift containers on and off lorries until we purchased a large counter balance forklift. since then the crane has mostly been unused. its a shame to leave sitting in yard taking up space when someone else could be using it. After 8 months sat put a new battery on and started straight away. more then welcome to come and view it weighs 16ish ton in scrap metal its almost £5,000 on what we get for heavy steel. shame to scrap when its such a good machine "

easy enough to fit a new one, or may just have left the hook off and accidentally winched it in .... it auto compensates for tele-ing and if they've pulled it in you need to know how to re-reeve it ;) ... might have snapped it, or just pulled the end off it, too late to deal with it ... if the pear wedge isn't correctly fitted it'll pull out and disappear if you're not on the ball

Been a good few weeks.

Lots of chaos ensuing... Normally we'd have a blade but the ground conditions limit it's usefulness in the lagoons, and access issues limit the ability to bring anything much bigger than a D4. So the little 85 has been shaping up the floodbund. Lots of little tip bits on the Job, it's a bit of a twat for efficiencies as the parameters for the job have changed rapidly..... from 1:3 batters and a engineered design to a case of "Shape it by eye to look right"..... if they had just said the latter to begin with we'd of run differently.

Long reach has been cross pit casting in a place or two where it is unsuitable to run the Tracked dumper along the edge, other places the 360' tracked dumper is running direct hauls of 50-100m...... which is about there sweet spot. We've a Hydrema for the longer hauls..... could arguably do with another 13t machine, but beggers etc.

Water management is the Key. Started in lagoon 1 which is discharging through a filter to ground away from site... this brought the sites groundwater down low enough to form good firm crust over the site. Once Lagoon 1 was completed we over pumped Lagoon 2 into 1... any silt is settling out and it either than sods off through the land drains to rewet the site or we pump to ground again when it's full. Lagoon 2 has a very large spring at present which will soon be reinstated over. Hopefully that will reduce the water in No2 allowing less pumping.... that said there is only a week of good work left, if that.

MF65 on the splitter.

I would have come and said hello. But looked a bit treacherous on the river bank. What a lovely spot👍
