It depends what you need it for. A one tonne machine isn’t as stable as a three tonne, but certainly not dangerous if you’re not...

buy a Bomag and keep it tidy and after 10 years it’s worth maybe 10/12k , that’s 1k a year ‘cost’, which is no more than 5 hires a year...
