Alpine link arm took a beating yesterday.

Suggested protocol for migging this back together? V out almost to halfway all around, preheat and fill up with spray mig? I have 15% gas for extra penetration but not sure this calls for it. My main concern is post weld brittleness of the edges of the weld.

I can put it in the mill with a mag drill cutter to redo the hole.

do that and let it cool slowly id say

Preheat it, 'fore welding then bury it in sawdust to cool for a few hours - will cool nice and slow in the insulation

Watch it doesn't bite you ...had my first one for ages the other night. Hot evening so short sleeves...stupid angle trying to grind...and my arm.... sizzle
