Got a Volvo L90E with D6D engine and we have oil in the water..looks like the oil cooler has been changed in the past.. apart from head gasket has anyone got any other suggestions of how the oil is getting in.. she runs like a watch..

Never worked on a volvo shovel, but....

Once got called out to do a tyre on a farm matbro in a major hurry as the main dealer was coming out with the lorry to take it away to do the head gasket. Farmer was very reluctant to let me start it so that I had room to work. Radiator cap off, definately oil in water , dipped oil , level normal. Finger in cooling water , a good look, feel and sniff .... not convinced.

Pulled transmission dipstick, rusty as f**k and oil pink and creamy. Whipped water to oil transmission cooler off, re-soldered and went on my merry way 😁

It’s what I do!
Maybe the o rings have perished in the oil cooler?
