Good evening,

Looking for some buckets for our Volvo ec27c but wondered would it handle a 900mm digging bucket? Or am I better off with a 750mm. Many thanks

Not driven a Volvo ec27c but most 2.7t machines will handle a 900mm bucket. Might struggle digging with it but they make a very good rehandling bucket.

Personally would prefer a 750mm for majority of stuff. less stress on the machine, and savings made using a bigger bucket will probably be lost in the extra effort the machine has to exert breaking out.

I had a 900 custom made by harford engineering to save my grader and be a lot faster digging up 130 metres of concrete block driveway 18 inches deep With a 600 bucket.I ripped the lot first with a ripper tine and machine,ecr25d coped pretty well.use this bucket for most rehandling now and have replaced all teeth so it done a bit of work.it will dig topsoil ok but clay, which is 9 inches down around here is really hard work and the bucket is too big for digging this, wet or dry.depending on soil type you might manage but all I get is clay so I'd not reccomend it for that job

I've no idea if the 27c use the same system as the 27d i have, or what the problem is but on both a 25d and 27d i've had a problem with the revs briefly increasing as you stop the machine when auto idle is engaged. With the help of @CPS and others i worked out that the solenoid that operates the auto idle system try's to override the stop solenoid on the injection pump. Purely by coincidence i started using GTL diesel which is cleaner than the average crap we now have from the pumps and the problem disappeared after a short while.
Impossible to prove but my theory is the GTL cleans the internals of the pump better than regular diesel and there's less resistance on the stop solenoid as it moves the rack to the stop position and the auto idle solenoid doesn't have a chance to increase the revs before the engine stops.?
another cause could be poor connections or weakness of the stop solenoid ?
There's a thread here somewhere (volvo ec27revs)
