Van racking

I’ve bought a year old MAN TGE
I want to rack it out for work and was thinking best way to do it . It’s similar size to my sprinters so I know roughly what I want but wondered does anyone have any good ideas I can steel ! My hand tool storage is awful shovels punch bar broom etc

We tried alsorts with shovel storage false floors, length of pipe trough for them to lay in and found the only thing that works is bars coming out the side of the van a piece of roof batten one the floor to stop them sliding forwards and a mini ratchet strap screwed to the wall to hold them all in place.
Nice and easy to get to everything without making a complete mess of everything else. We do have a small false floor for long level and digging bar as the van isn't tall enough to stand them up. And try to use brooms with removable heads. Take the heads off Mattocks and and picks.

Biggest problem is rakes

Shovels etc are a nightmare, always fancied trying these but not got around to it yet

Depends how many shovels you carry. Could get very expensive

Quick fist clamps . They’d be worth a try .
I was wondering about some way to hold rake and broom under the roof as it’s a high one you can stand up in

I put my fuel tank on a ledge built over the wheel arch so the weight is on the right place when I fill it and it takes up less floor space than having it on the floor .
I may put it a bit higher this time as the space above it is wasted and space below it is usable

If it's that tall stand the rakes up or hang them head up.
Upright tools are definitely the best everything else we have done was just frustrating. Just not enough room to get the rakes upright as it's a twin cab transit with all tools in the cab

a piece of 225mm pipe or similar about 1200mm long stood upright at the end of the shelves at the back door works well for brushes shovels rakes etc in my experience

I like the idea of that but I’d need to angle it towards the door otherwise they would hit the roof before sliding out of the pipe

Quickfists are really good at holding tools, not that quick though. They can be a little fiddly but they definitely stop all that annoying rattling as you go about.
I'd still recommended them.
Terry clips are good for shovels if you get them lined up right.

To be fair If racked properly you can pretty much launch it in and it lands in the right place
