Saw this today, and lad lost one other week off Neuson on golf course is this going to be the big thing. What can be done to secure them.

Sick thing is that's someone with industry knowledge ... Can you not weld up pins?

Anyone with enough know how to remove a tilty and control system will have a battery grinder. The pins will be the easy part!

Suppose so. As we discussed elsewhere pricing isn't going to help this

With the brutal cost of them, they will be targets, was a thought I had if I ever did get one that would have to bring it back each day, I already chain the buckets up. To be fair a chain isn't going to stop anybody but better than just the strap and it's more to the point that getting replacement s30 buckets at short notice is none existent.
It's doubtful will get past the whole "it's half the cost of the machine/can nearly buy another micro for the outlay" for what's essentially a lump of metal with some expensive electronics

I suppose they are all serial numbered and the OEM keeps a record of who owns what? If found or checked by authorities. How many people keep records of the serial numbers on their kit?

Mine is individually stated on my insurance policy..

Even my 4-hose tilties have control boxes. I always (as a minimum) take those off if leaving the machines anywhere, with the hope that Rototilt wouldn’t supply a new box to someone ‘randomly’ needing one!

You would hope that would be the case or a database held of what serial number/owner

The first thing I do with anything new is take a picture of the serial number.

The cherry picker lads always leave them with boom up I notice....so I suppose If they can't start the machine and the tilty is 5m up in the air life's a tad more difficult....
Surely there's enough tech on them to render them useless without some kind of coded control boxes?

You would hope that about injection pumps on diggers too, but no, despite it being that way on cars since the mid nineties!
