I had the same one, religiously secured my trailer for years. Then one day I forgot to 'unlock' and when I drove of the clamp fell off!

I did it on a motorbike. Put a padlock through front brake disc. One day forgot and it just snapped

It's nearly had my fingers off numerous times and I've got the key ...... amazing how sharp they leave the edges ☹

Once put a new power supply into a touring caravan site, direct route was through the storage. Caravan owners were asked to either move off the line or leave the keys with the manager, of the 30 or so that ignored the request there were only five we could not move without causing any damage (including to the security devices)

I’ve one of them, used it a hand full of times, what a load of crap it is!! Takes ages to get on right and if you leave it on too long it’s near impossible to unlock again, the barrel just spins… oh and adding oil to the lock is such a bad idea

I've got a slightly different version but it's useless on the new trailer, the clamp physically fits but you can get to the bolts on the wheel
