Hi all, so I’m writing just for a little bit of clarification I have a Takeuchi135FR with an offset boom and inside the cab there’s a switch. SLM switch. This is for the boom to retract it past the cab with a small bucket on. Personally I use it to get a higher lift when filling a lorry it is very helpful, it’s become a little bit stubborn, but it works now and again,(it gets worse as the day goes on. It seems like probably just me but I think it’s getting worse over time) but it does set itself automatically back to M when you turn off the machine that works fine. however, moving the switch to the S so will lift up past the cab the boom seems to just stop when it’s almost parallel i’m not sure whether that’s L or M but it’s definitely not S, I had the machine serviced and the guy said it was an issue with the switch which I don’t totally believe because if I switch it to S and it won’t go up, if I go down a little bit and use the app would momentum, it will almost feels like it pushes past the stop (it will only do this on S not on M or L .Whatever stops it It’s a bit jumpy once it goes that little further back and the more you do it the more it seems to go past easier until you either turn off the machine or switch the switch back.
I don’t want to go, willy-nilly buying lots of bits and pieces. Does anyone have any ideas? It might obviously be the switch I’ve had a look at the valves on the back of the boom and I don’t really know what I’m looking at but they don’t seem to move much whatever I do even when it was working, any ideas should I change the switch?
Or test it but where am I testing? for voltage?

So if anyone else has got this problem I would now check the offset linkage there is a plate on it that pushes two rollers up that are connected to 2 switches. As my linkage was worn the plate did not quite push the rollers up enough luckily the holes are slotted so you can easily under it move the plate up and tighten them back up solve the issue.
Takeuchi said that the switches themselves are super reliable on this model and don’t barely ever break or go wrong
