Squealing noisy tracks

The tracks on my Kubota kx161-3a are hideously noisy at the moment

it’s been on mot and dry site for ages so no mud etc they’re enough to drive you mad

on an ssi site so no pouring diesel on them etc is the only way new chains had a price for new chains and bolts at £1100 it’s on 550mm track pads

That sounds cheap enough for new chains did that include sprockets?

Have you tried wetting them to shut them up temporary or are they running tight steel tracks want to be surprisingly slack

So much stretch in them they don’t go tight anymore even after having a link removed. Machines only 3200 genuine hours.

wet 'em down a bit ... regularly ... might stop the annoying squeal for a while

Once upon a time all tracks squeaked , particularly tractors on box work!

Yeah deep down I know lol was just seeing if there was a little trick to ease them a bit to finish job. Js160 ones make that lovely thud thud or clung clung sound while tracking

What about a bit of mold oil. The stuff you use on shutters. That would be bio degradable

dunno about these days, but that used to be nutmeg oil, many years ago and can remember as a teenager being told stories by an old shutterer of dogs coming from miles around to lick the shuttering

Tracks on my 161 are also extremely squeaky also on 550mm steels. To the point where if I'm doing alot of tracking about wear ear muffs. Being dry definitely makes a big difference. I tend to run them on the slack side which reduces it a bit.
