I have spoken to them, but the people I'm dealing with are very much down the food chain and don't have the authority or understanding to say it will be okay.
Just do that then, it always seems to be a tick box exercise till they need something doing, then it’s just a case of, get on and do the job.
I've done this before. Completed 3 jobs for them before they finally demanded I did my CPCS ticket. At least I'd earned some money before having to splash out. Too often these days you cant even get a foot in the door unless you have all the stupid schemes under your belt. Good luck with it and I hope you win the contract!

Yep ...... exactly what I did ........ if the quote request arrived with a ream of BS bollox it went straight in the bin ....... could not be arsed with it all ... it'd only bite yer arse at a later date and we had more than enough work to keep us occupied and gainfully employed, without cow-towing to that s**t.
yes we lost out on some work ..... but would it have been worth it ... would've been cut to the bone anyway

I appreciate your help on this.We all agree its bullshit but unfortunately, unless you only want to work in private gardens, we need to embrace it to a certain extent. I really don't think the "just put it in the bin" rhetoric is very helpful for Grahams. He is a specialist, working under some big firms who win national contracts for the government. Its bound to come with more paperwork than working for a private client.
There's some good work out there that can be won with a few simple bits of paperwork that once you have in place, are free to replicate. It pisses me off that there are so many CHAS SMAS etc schemes out there and different firms want different accreditation's. Really if you have one, it should be accepted across the board but its not and that's what makes it yet another money making scheme.
There's a really good variety of contractors on this forum and we undertake all manor of works for many national clients. Rail, environmental, civils etc. Between us we have the knowledge to help Grahams out here for free and probably have all the paperwork necessary to do it. So boys, we can complain about how s**t it is and keep burying our heads in the sand. Or we can get with the times and help each other out, keeping the cost down and helping us all to move forward together.
