Hi. I would like to make a similar mechanical device to load weights onto the floor of vehicles. Any suggestions for building it in a functional way? Thanks.

I tried it with scaffold poles and a handwinch years ago...didn't end well

funnily enough i have been contemplating something along these sort of lines for the arse end of my 10x5 trailer, for humping lumpier stuff into it ... just drop it in the sockets at the back end - a winch and a pull lift allyoop and it's in

Yeah well...I got that far but didn't consider basic physics as to what happens once it swung past the "fulcrum" inboard...things went rapidly downhill from there ...let's just say there wasn't enough consideration given to support the scaffolding coming backwards .
