Rotators for rigid rotating grabs. As far as I can tell there are the barrel type (is there a more commonly used name for them?) and the worm drive type.

Am I right in saying that the barrel type work on whatever hydraulic magic makes most hydraulic motors work, fluid friction, swash etc and are therefore not mechanically locked if a hose blows or whatever? It would follow that they resist rotation by the presence of still oil and whatever valves are in the machine system? Will they slip if loaded excessively or is that down to valves in the rest of the system again?
As far as I can tell, the worm drive type like on engcons won't slip until the teeth sheer off inside, which would surely need to be a monstrous load? How is infinite rotation achieved on grabs under these without twisting the hoses that operate the grab ram?
