Quality bolts

Can anyone recommend a website that's sells good quality bolts? The last lot I bought were made of cheese, the nuts and bolts striped and we're so soft I beat the bolt back through the nut with a hammer.

Never had a problem with anything bought in the uk. Chinese items can have suspect bolts but anything from a bolt factors has been fine for me

Screwfix can be cheap (for once!) if they have the size you need.

I have found Orbital Fastners unbeatable for service recently. I think their prices are fair, no issues with quality, but the service is next level! Brilliant! Highly recommend them.

Depends what quantity but Parker steels are good for bulk buying, say enough to hold a barn together
They are also very cheap for the epoxy resin fasteners with the glass vial

Off the shelf bolts are generally 8.8 Grade Tensile strength & are general purpose-

Usually 8.8 stamped on bolt head

Used in structural steel & general Fabrication projects

Nuts must be 8.8 Grade also

.Beware of cheaper bolts that are 4.4 grade - they will shear very easily -

Threaded bar is 4.4 Grade (unless specified by supplier) & should be avoided

Higher shear values are also available for bigger loads
