Oh No!!!!!!

This is not what I expected when i did the first oil change on my benford 3000 TS3 lister engine ( Just bought it), any ideas what i'm going to find or what it is, im fearing the worst, (pen is for scale)

too big for a little end, deffo not a big end .. possibly a piece of a cam bearing ? but would expect it to be a coated bearing shell

Thought it might be crankshaft thrust washer, engine still starts and runs fine no rattles ????

Not worked on one, but looking at the available parts, I can't see what it could be.
Is there any wear marks or signs of impact?

no I was struggling with the shape ... cam is all I could reasonably think of .. but would expect them to be a full circular coated bearing shell really ... that looks to be a solid bronze part, much like a part of a selector fork, but would not expect to find that in the sump

Hi just measured it to make a circle and its 52mm diameter, 10mm deep, 3mm thick, still none the wiser.
it looks like it been in there awhile pretty battered and the edges are worn

No nothing apart from it looks like it's been in there a long time

In all honesty if it's running fine new oil and forget the issue. Those ts3 lumps are hardy.....

Thanks, that's what I'm going to do, keep using it until it gets too bad or stops then rebuild it
