Hello!
My name is Tyler and I recently switched professions from managing IT teams at a consulting firm to building a website to sell aftermarket hydraulic replacement parts. I was in IT for almost 20 years including working in college, took a small stint in bartending for about a year, and then made the move to hydraulics. The other part of our business repairs heavy machine parts (mostly cylinders and rods). I am still learning the business as well as all of the components and parts that go into each heavy machine. There is one large cylinder that we have in the shop from years before my time here that I have had trouble identifying as it came from a company that went out of business a handful of years ago.
I was able to figure out that it is from a GMK 5250 Grove Crane from what I can tell based on the numbers on the cylinder itself. I reached out to a dealer for Grove and I learned I need the serial number off of the actual crane, which I am unable to do as I do not know where the crane is after that company went out of business. The numbers I was able to find are as follows:

so what's the issue with the cylinder?
what sort of physical size is it ?
do you know if it's a luffing/telescoping cylinder or from the outrigger system?
could try throwing all your info. at these guys ...

you could also try and track down a Geordie guy called Dave Bosher ... originally a Coles man, in/from Sunderland who went to Grove Worldwide in Bicester, when Grove took over Coles .... he could find just about anything for Coles and Grove machines and was an absolute mine of information for parts and machine spec.s .. Dave was a great bloke. Met him a few times in Bicester - a real character
