It's easy to demonstrate Competence and training in house... formal training days with signed written paperwork and photographic evidence in a folder captioned by the lads themselves to say what they are doing....

E.g Machine familiarisation with a new item of plant, with the lads photographing and writing about the check point locations, SWL's, Machine condition etc!

Just about having a bit of history to back up your claims.....

Of course the only issue is if your s**t and trying to blag it..... HSE rocks up and watches you for a few minutes to see you flailing round like a C*** and that anyone can see your incompetent

What you are saying is rights but the unscrupulous quite literally take the piss with in house and make it up to suit themselves.
I have supposed certificates from a previous role for machine specific training along with 3 other lads I was 200 miles from the alleged training site pricing a job with one of the area managers and client and i know that the other lads where not there either
The same company issued me with a certificate of familiarity training on several machines but they failed to notice i wasn't even in the Country at the time
Needless to say i refused to use the certificates which was a cause of great friction but the other lads thought it was great and genuinely believed cert was worth the paper ot was printed on and am sure if they ever move jobs they will have reams of certificates that looks impressive fot training that never took place

And the one thing i would say about your comments about the HSE turning up is just hope to God they haven't turned up because the accident hasn't already happened

If that’s the firm that Major Tom was in communication with then I’m honestly blown away/amazed - they were incredibly thorough checking and keeping tabs on our qualifications and training when we used to subby to them. Maybe different rules for directly employed lads though possibly?!

Why would you go to neutral.... Tc dumpers have either a dump button or pedal.

Why would you go to neutral.... Tc dumpers have either a dump button or pedal.

Unless the pedal switch is fuc*ed then you use neutral on the shuttle

But by rights you should pick that up on the pre start and condemn the dumper if it was a test situation.
