No touch driving, very handy to have a sandwich or take a crap while letting the machine drive itself across site....

Some good upgrades. Really like the pressurised cab and high flow. I guess the joystick steering turns off the other joystick functions which is not great.

Lot of overcomplicated nonsense inspired by operators who don't have to pay for it, nor do they have to worry about fixing it in 5+ years time when the electronics have suffered majorly from exposure to the elements. Putting a brain in a machine is a cheap way of adding features but I expect that brain will cost a lot of money when it inevitably dies
Never been on a Cat Mini I've liked unfortunately, although I found there 7/8t machines bloody strong.
Servicablity is a word I also hate.... I bet it's still a wanker of a job to change those filters or worse still the likes of a starter motor.
We shall see at plantworx I guess.

It can’t be just me that thinks a machine tracking itself across a site is bloody dangerous!
Like you say Rory, Hymac did it, a guy local to here had a black out in his, tracked over his truck and ended up in a ditch. Poor old boy didn’t last long after that.
The old JCB 805b would track itself, the levers would lock into position and you could sit there indefinitely with it tracking on! Seemed like the norm back in the day, but thinking about it now it was deadly!
Now I know that CAT will be smarter than that, and if you get out of the seat, it will likely stop. But what about the lad in the seat looking at his phone and not where he’s going, head buried in Pornhub, before you know it he’s hit something or worse someone! There’s no provision for that surely?......

I don't think the feature is tracking its self it is switching the tracking controls to the joy stick to allow u to track and steer it from there. Could be wrong but that's how I understood it

My Volvo had cruise control. Scared myself witless first time I tried it on some private roads trying to work out how to turn it off as end of track rapidly getting closer.

LOL! Been there done similar with the Atlas 1705M at Ashford railway station on the perimiter road. First machine I'd encountered with such technology.

Funny you mention it, was in the yard travelling the duck when I went to blow the horn but pressed the wrong button, hit the one on the forward/reverse lever and engaged cruise control (had the machine a few years now and didn’t know it had it) well feck me it took off and I didn’t have a clue what was happening for a second or two (seemed like a minute)

And they said it was customers demand! What customer, when asked what could be improved, said ‘I know, I’d really like the machine to track itself from job to job so I can just be a passenger ‘....WTF!
