Looking for a 42” bucket for my 3CX, emailed 3 or 4 companies on Wednesday and only one has got back to me. I presume they’re all really busy. Has anyone used BMC?

in Chepstow? ...Alex @Op_Alx24/7 has and was very pleased ..... Ryan @fred has also just ordered from them and they have a rep for a good product at a decent price and on time ... very accommodating people ...... one of the guys there used to be a member of the old BCEF, but don't think he's signed up here

42" 3CX bucket with teeth and dummy pins £520 + vat and delivery. 2 week lead time as 36" is the biggest on the shelf.

Looking for one with bolt on cutting edge. Would it be strapped on the bottom? How much would delivery to Aberdeen be?

Pallet to Aberdeen is about £90 and yes it can have a bolt on edge. Should be about the same price as teeth It would be strapped at the bottom... Do you have any preference as to what type of straps?

Yea , buckets wouldn't be our main line but we do them to order....

I got a set from BMC for the Dx80 when I fitted the S45 quick hitch. Been pleased with them and the speed of delivery from order was impressive.
I'm sure Aiden will be a good choice also.
I only wish I'd went with his offer for the quick hitch at the time instead of the disappointment of where I went.

I've seen a lot of folk welding a cutting edge on under the teeth, I've done a few for folk also. Is it just to extend the bucket or is there a particular job for this setup?

service avoidance and flat bottoming a trench mostly I believe Mike .... scraping rather than dragging the teeth through and finding cables/pipes

I did think about doing that to my 3-footer but with the ground here I’d be forever changing the teeth over for the blade. Does give a bigger capacity and a longer toe which can be handy for undermining kerb log or digging under services.

I have bolt on teeth and bolt on edges. Yes I spend a lot of time switching them over but I always have the right thing for the job.

Also big buckets with straight edges are popular round here for sand schools where a ditching bucket would be slow to spread that much material and switching buckets is inefficient

Had all my buckets done with knock out teeth to be able to swap between the two, saves on having 2 buckets, with that many services in the ground now, it’s mandatory that it’s in the RAMS that no teeth break the ground. Only takes a couple of minutes to swap over from one to the other. Think I use the ball hitch now than I do the teeth. There nice big retaining pins that I’ve had from day one, and I was given the punch from a lad at Miller for getting them out.

Eventually got round to ordering one from BMC, it arrived last week. I haven't seen it yet but Martin who works for me is happy with it and says it's well made.

Rob at engcon got me some bladed teeth which work on a similar principle. Each tooth comprises a blade section to the full width of the bucket. Cat j type teeth in this case.

I’ve gave him a ton of polish for it
