I heard tonight that Mr Kelly who at one time managed Tarmac's UK earthmoving fleet has sadly died suddenly aged 72. He lived locally at Ironbridge near my dad. He had not been ill in any way, so totally unexpected. He joined Tarmac from college in '72, being sent to Bircham Newton to experience several types of plant. One of his first jobs was the concrete pad under the Iron Bridge on the river bed. Also he was to be seconded to Cairo Wastewater Consortium in Egypt where he sunk several shafts in wet sandy ground & another job in Peru I forget the name of. He retired in 2010 aged 60. He was keen to try the little digger I restored but circumstances intervened.
I at present know no more than this.
