I’m feeling really guilty now. Every time I take my Kubota out on a Saturday, I’m robbing Lynch, Flannery’s, O’Briens, Blackwells, etc.
So it’s your fault the industry is going down the pan!!! (Apparently)I’m feeling really guilty now. Every time I take my Kubota out on a Saturday, I’m robbing Lynch, Flannery’s, O’Briens, Blackwells, etc.
That wouldn’t have been considered an unreasonable attitude 20 years ago, but now the guy would likely leave & do much better for him self than staying employed. The dealer would either have to train a new fitter or poach a trained fitter from someone else as there isn’t exactly a lot of good trained unemployed fitters trawling situations vacant.Really simple- because the work is going to him first!
He sounds like a good, skilled guy who could make a go of it on his own. Were I the boss of that dealership, I'd be saying 's**t or get off of the pot'- and I don't think that's an unreasonable attitude.
How would you feel if your labourer bought a mini and did jobs cheaper at weekends? You know, because he didn't have the overheads that you have as an established business doing things by the book. Paying in to his pension so that he doesn't need to worry about setting up his own as he would if self employed etc. How do you know that that potential customer wouldn't have used you otherwise?
I don't think your guy would be half as cheap if he wasn't still sucking on the dealership's teat.
