I might have someone interested in buying my small tracked spider crane, trouble is he's in Sheffield and doesn't have a trailer. He's been quoted £1600+vat for haulage as a special trip which seems to my uneducated mind to be dear, but I have no clue on transport costs. Would suit a 4wd and plant trailer as crane only 1.8 ton.
Anyone know someone that does that run with a beaver tail 7.5ton or small hiab wagon or even 4wd and trailer? The guy local to me has retired.

There are loads of pages on Facebook for car transport. They will move anything though and they are often advertising £1 a mile

Yeah, loads of FB pickup and tailer people who will do that for way less than £1600.

Just make sure he's paid you first and he also pays for the delivery- all his risk then.

Had someone contact me from the farming forum, and the buyer has asked if I would sell my trailer as well. I called IW dealer to see what it would cost to replace my 3 year old GD84 twin and nearly spat my tea out . £2850+vat plus head board plus prop stands. Gone up some!

Buyer has gone quiet on me... so I put the crane on Marketplace (as others advised originally) and had 3 enquires and a deposit paid within 24 hours. Hopefully getting collected tomorrow.
