Kubota KX61-2- what's it worth?

Got my eye on this. It's clearly had the two gallon refurb, which I just hate, but it looks fairly straight and is local. What shoudl I be prepared to bid to? I've asked for a viewing today. 3k hours- how many are these generally good for?

Could be lucky and it goes on for another 20 years but on the other hand .....

may be old, but it's very tidy ... even with the fresh paint ... it's very straight

7k would be a good buy if its tight and operates well - I reckon you will have to pay a bit more if you want it.

Had a look, hated it. Bloke was nice enough but the machine was, I think, just too old for me. Tight enough on the pins but unresponsive, hard work to operate. Horrible thin levers that were pretty stiff compared to my 2 year old Hyundai. He said the blade droops a bit over time- well it dropped like a stone and the internal seal's f***ed cause it won't hold itself up on it either. It was that hard to operate that I reckon any job I could have done quicker with the 1.8t Hyundai. I don't reckon it'll make much more than 7k, and they'd be welcome to it if you ask me.

Going to go and look at a 2007 Hitatchi tomorrow, see how that drives. Just been offered a 250 hour 2.7t hyundai for £22k but it's too much to finance when the 1.8t does almost all I need anyhow.

Provided it's not been bashed to bits by know it all builders who don't know the word grease and have never cracked the final drives open than as said 7k all day long.

TBH you won't achieve much more with that than you will with a modern 1.8 doobin. Faster for loading muck out but for everything else the 1.8 will do the same as that.

That's my gut feeling mate. Think I might have to wait a few months and put a newish 2.7t on tick. A bit more reach with the grapple would be nice, that's the main thing.

have you thought about the tb225 it looks to me like it would do the work of both the 1.7 and a 2.6 i will be giving a good look when it is time to change mine

Hmm. I wouldn't mind a go on one. Does look a good machine. I'm not a huge Tak fanboy though. The TB216 is a joke of a machine. As for a go on one- when I was shopping for my mini, Takeuchi just expected me to buy with no demo because it's a takeuchi. Um, no. Didn't even ask them for a price on a micro.

I'm keeping mine for at least two more years though, and by that time I should be ahead enough in business to just have a 2.7t as well.

Doob see my reply to the zx25 thread, but I will say the main thing I use the 8026 for now is grapple work, if that's what your doing it may be worth spending on one, you can get a little tree shear too which I think would be good fun. I know it's easy to spend others money but mine is on the drip, it needs to do one day a week to pay for itself, which ain't a lot in the grand scheme of things.

Yeah, trouble is I already have a mini and micro on the drip. They need two days each a month to cover it all. I reckon the 2.7 would need 4 days if I went fairly recent.

Yeah 4 days a month needed and mine was new. You know what your right to be cautious, we're heading it to uncertain times and another machine on the never never may just end up a noose round your neck. I'd like more machines as at the minute it's dead busy, but that could change so if I buy anything at the minute I'll buy it outright so it's done with. And even with that said if I end up with a lump I may just pay the 8026 off, least then if the job turns real sour it can just be put in a shed and not worried about.
