Komatsu duck axle and hub

Does anyone know if Komatsu make there own axles and hubs or are they sourced components from the likes of ZF ?
ive a seal gone as oil is passing from axle to hub . The travel motor is ZF but I’m not sure about the axles and hubs

The axle will have a plate on it normally somewhere on top of the diff.

I hear kedgeworth 2000 are good for komatsu parts cheaper than komatsu there self. May be worth a call.

This is a reply from Tom at Komatsu tech. Really helpful guy .
looks like it’s acceptable for oil to pass. Also the fill levels on the hubs are at different levels for the front and back both in line with their axles so the levels should be the same.

There is no one specific Seal responsible for oil separation between Axle and Final Drive Assembly.

Main oil retention would be via Shaft and Bush Assemblies – items 12 and 16 of the previously forwarded Structure information ( pdf page 4 of 4 ).



It’s not uncommon for Axles / Hubs to share oil.

Had a look tonight , there is a wee plate on the axles . They are made in Poland the company is Carraro. Any one heard of them ?

Yes Carraro been around a long time. Used to supply axles for some Ford tractors I believe. I always thought they were Italian?
Not sure who supplies parts for them in the UK?

Yeah HES Tractec. I've used them for Dana axles but Carraro axles are also used quite a bit on tractors. Here is the number: 01452 733106

That’s excellent , that’s actually my axle .
That’ll help with the price of parts . I paid a lot for a couple of bushesand pins in the steering
