KH41 suddenly decided it wont start…
Question Kubota mini digger wont start so have changed both filters and even the electric lift pump and getting fuel toinjectors but still wont start then I accidentally hit the forward hydraulic lever and it offered to start I thought no way so tried again, this time I engaged both levers forward and she started nearly went through the shed! So I footered about and can start in forward or reverse but soon as you take OUT of gear it stops,???

All I can think is I might have hit the Aux hydraulic pedal and its stuck and causing back pressure in the system and when going forward it releases pressure somewhere or have no idea realy, goes against every thing…

think you've answered your own query

Get the floor up and look at aux levers. My kubota 1.5t ton tracks with the dead man up. Not like most other diggers

most machine's'll track with the deadman up Dyl ... they're direct mechanical/rod control, to the valve chest, not servo and the dead man only controls the servo functions (on most)

Not on anything modern. I can't think of anything I've driven that would. In fact most now won't even drop the blade circuit or hammer line pressure with dead man down and ignition on.

must all be servo controlled then ... deadman isolates the servo supply solenoid valve -- can't see how a dead man switch'd have any control over a mechanically actuated circuit -- unless it had some sort of dump to tank valve for the main pressure feed from the pumps

Thanks guys, I am away at work at the moment, wont be home until the 9th Jan, I am not to mechanically minded when it comes to hydraulics and stuff thats why I would like to get as much info before I start trying to trace the problem, she is an old machine but had been working perfect doing odd jobs around the croft house and garden for some time, I think I did engage the aux pedal just to make sure it was working and the revs dropped if I remember and flipped the pedal back over to disengage and just assumed it did? But now I am not to sure or even would this make a difference?

explain how the dead man isolates mechanical controls then please Aiden??????
None of mine track with the safety up including the old case . From memory I think it has a 24v cut out . Could there be an isolator valve on the low pressure side that stops all the servo controls working ?

the dead man lever operates a switch controlling the servo circuit supply solenoid valve which stops the servo circuit supplying pressure to any servo operated functions .. how ever .. many tracking/blade valves are operated by mechanical linkages (not servo controlled), directly to the valve block, so can't see how they could possibly be controlled by the dead man ... My little Jake will track and the blade operate with the dead man up

Hi Guys, as I said I am away at work, on a rig in the North Sea, but my brother is home just now and I asked him to give the engine a turn to see if she would start, she still wont start, but he noticed when turning the engine over all the hydraulics slowly work, as in blade up and down and boom up and down, as well as all the rest, is this normal? I am no skilled mechanic, just service and change filters, reasonable at bleeding fuel lines back to the injectors, the very basics in hydraulics, and pretty poor at electrical stuff so any help is much appreciated…

Have a nice Christmas…

No, they shouldn't. It sounds like the levelers aren't centralised

Thanks for info, what could have done that as was working fine until I parked her up for the night?
Not sure, you need to check the levers and blade control, if its trying to lift when starting the definitely something not right.

I think your machine is linkage controlled rather than servo. So id have a look at the linkage etc to start with
