Jockey Wheel upgrade.

Did this a few years ago and stood test of time. We fitted storage box on the 10x5 crane trailer, then swapped to a 3500kg drawbar (rest of trailer was already 3500kg set up) and found that new draw-bar with revised layout was allowing jockey wheel handle hitting the storage box. Got round it this way, and its been bloody handy. Made space for crane pads to sit there as well now. Easy to get it up on the back wheels for shunting into its parking bay, and a little bit more security as well. Sacrificial socket and a bit of zinc spray. Tempted to do it to the GH1054BT plant trailer as well. Running on my last Chinesium battery from many years ago. Dont bother to buy knock offs anymore as genuine are so cheap.

I like that might give it a go in my 10x5, made the strap box just a bit too big so it's awkward

I've been thinking of putting a nut on ours it must be quite a fine thread and is not quick

Do it. If you need to hand shunt trailers around it makes it a doddle to get em up on rear axle. We quite often have to use front hitch to push the loaded hiab trailer into the right spot and this makes it less hassle to hitch/unhitch.
