JCB control lever adjustment , advice please

Hello , I wonder if anyone could advise me please . I'd done a full days digging and the old girl had done well , I was feeling a little cocky and jumped out of the cab catching my jacket on the slew control lever . It now sticks out to the left making it impossible to operate it with the door closed . I've noticed a little stubby , right angled lever that sticks up at the side of the box in which the controls are housed , can I use this to realign the lever , I can't find a proper workshop manual for my old square cab , so I'm a little afraid to mess with it . Any advice would be greatly appreciated , thanks .

Thanks for the reply ' Druid , its an old 801.4 of an uncertain vintage , any help would be greatly appreciated . I'm sorry if I've got my terms wrong but , to be technical , its the lever with the yellow knob that sticks out too far.

pre servo Jakie .... before you go bending anything, slide the rubber boot up the stick and see if there are any obvious 'dislocations' or bends in the linkages in the turret ... the other little lever certainly looks to be the slew lock pin BUT .. it's along way off the rotational centre of the machine at a guess

Think the red knob is either a dead man or to move the joy stick forwards and backwards

Go with Druid at the moment, take off the rubber boot, it may be the lock lever (red) bracket has been bent, she’s a cable type so not really a lot to go wrong!

The little grey lever inside locks the the whole lever forward or back, and the red lever locks the control lever ( so it is not caught when getting in and out of the cab)

Ah right ...... turret'll tilt forward/back

nah, think that was just the lever, not the turret

Yeh it was just the lever! Seen it done plenty of times! And if the lock lever is not engaged, the person getting there coat caught on the lever slews to the left also!

So it's not for hanging my manbag on then ?

Thanks to all , I've had a look inside and I've attached two photos , the one on the left , the problem one , seems to be twisted away leaving a gap and leaving it badly aligned , the other picture shows the other side where everything looks neatly in place . Is there a fixing at the base that can be adjusted or have I bent the rod ? The big bolt , left picture , seems to be holding the assembly , could I loosen it and turn the assembly clock wise or would it be a better idea to fix the problem ?

The good thing is that it all still works and I can still use it for work tomorrow , but I would like to be able to close the door sometimes as , if the wind is blowing from behind , I get fumes in the cab .

Give it a firm bend back so they both look the same and see if that solves the issue if it does get someone to weld it up for you

It does look a bit like the lever is slightly bent, but also the whole assembly has moved, check the position of the right hand lever assembly, adjust where possible and bend the rest.

be nice to see right down in the turret to see what the bottom of the lever is attached to .. before getting all gung ho, on the bend it back stakes....
very similar set up on my little walker and that's fairly adjustable ... if it's not too much effort, i'd be inclined to remove the lever for straightening it out (if it is indeed bent?) ..... what it's attached to has already been stressed one way ... trying to reverse it might be the straw that breaks summat

If I remember, it is indeed a tube, but quite thick walled! But yes I agree better to do it in the vice.

I'd definitely be taking it off and putting it in a vice, had one exactly the same and I would be straightening it were it is as durid says
