JCB 8014 - Tier 2 or Tier 3 - start relay or not?

I believe I've identified a fault in my ignition switch (which I replaced a year ago) on my JCB 8014 mini-digger. The question is, does my digger also have a start relay? I just want to be sure that it's not that that is faulty - but it may not have one at all??? From the manual wiring diagram it says the Tier 2 machines don't have one and the Tier 3's do.? I believe my machine is Tier 2 (old style arm and fuel primer on top of the fuel filter). I've looked all over behind the control panel and around the wiring loom for a relay but can't see anything. Where would I find the relay if there was one?

Take the exciter wire off the starter, and the ignition switch, can you do a continuity test on that wire?

Ok. Got continuity from the end of a wire in the start switch loom (helpfully marked with red tape) to the end of the exciter wire. So that means there must be no additional start relay. There's also continuity from another wire in the loom to the end of the exciter. Is that right?

Could be throwing current for fuel solenoid!
